It’s that time of year again! Red and pink heart shaped everything have taken over stores everywhere. Bakeries are working double time to make the most adorable heart shaped treats, restaurants are filling up with reservations and flower shops are preparing the most beautiful red, white and pink arrangements. Love is in the air and believe it or not, Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it.
While all the treats for this holiday are all for good fun, it can cause people that follow a gluten free diet because they have Celiac Disease or an allergy to feel left out. They cannot indulge in a box of chocolates and going out to eat on the busiest holiday of the year screams cross contamination and added anxiety. They probably receive flowers every year (like I do and I am not complaining), but what kind of list would this be if it included cliché Valentine’s Day gifts? Melt your gluten free loved ones heart with any of these unique V-day Gifts:
If they have been gluten free for a long time, they are bound to have a ton of recipes of their own. However, this gluten free cookbook is one of my favorites and has so many unique dishes in it! The Chicken Vera Cruz and Flourless Chocolate Almond Cake are just two of my favorites from this cookbook. BONUS: Offer to assist them with preparing a meal from the cookbook, it will be a fun date and you both get to enjoy a nice homemade meal together, now that’s a win-win!
2. A Gift Card to Their Favorite Grocery Store
So this isn’t the most romantic or fancy sounding gift out there, however, it is actually a very good one. Gluten free food is very expensive, and receiving a gift that could help offset the costs will be sure to put a smile on their face (and on their wallet).
3. A Gluten Free T-Shirt
I know you are thinking, that this sounds like a lame and boring gift but trust me, when you see these t-shirts from Celiac Cutie, you will change your mind! I myself own 2 shirts from this company and I love them so much. As someone with Celiac Disease, I love these shirts and think it is a fun way to express my feelings towards gluten. SIDENOTE: Shipping is SUPER fast and I always get it within 2 days!
4. Fuzzy Socks
Ok, this is actually a really great gift for everybody, I mean who doesn’t love fuzzy socks?! Nothing says I love you more than a pack of warm and fuzzy socks to get you through the rest of winter. Check out this adorable 6-pack of fuzzies (as I like to call them) with hearts all over them!
Surely your gluten free loved one is always bringing their own food everywhere, why not get them some nice containers to store that gluten free goodness in? You showing support for their needs is the ultimate sign of love and they will thank you for it. These pyrex containers are my favorite and are super durable.
I hope this list of gluten free Valentine’s Day gifts for your loved one inspires you to give something unique this V-day! When all else fails, you can always make them a heartfelt gift by hand, everybody loves those. Spreading lots of love to you!
