Please note that homemade hummus is fresh and will taste bright and flavorful and nothing like the kind you get at the store that has added preservatives. This change in flavor is a positive one, but I just like to put that warning out there.
All you need to make this hummus recipe is:
- A food processor (this one is my favorite)
- 1 15oz can of chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
- Tahini
- Garlic
- Lemon juice
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Ground Cumin
- Paprika
- Salt
Serving and Storage
Once your homemade hummus is ready, transfer it to a serving bowl. Drizzle a little olive oil on top and sprinkle with paprika and extra chickpeas. Serve with gluten free pita bread (click here for my recipe for gluten free pita chips), veggies, or as a spread in sandwiches and wraps. Leftover hummus can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Whether it’s for a casual gathering or a solo snack time, this delightful hummus recipe is sure to become a favorite in your kitchen.
Enjoy!
